Shankar
She is back...
She is here.
She is right in front of me.
I can't stop smiling. She is here all for me. Fun fact there is no other prisoner present here. Just me and her.
Aside from Shinde walking in and out every now and then. Apart from some ten other constables it's only us.
It feels like a date.
Fuck! shit, I can go crazy with all this happiness.
I have so many things to overthink. Like how she came just for me. She came to my haveli just to arrest me. We sat close in the jeep - I was, at the backseat and her in the front. Even though some driver was beside her driving, but I was the one closer.
You don't believe me? I have measured the distance.
Hey! Bholenath Meri tapasya safal hui. (Oh dear Shiva! My devotion has been awarded)
It feels so good watching her work like this and I have all, the time in the world.
Shinde again comes in and my mood turns sour. I want to watch my girl and he always interrupts my view.
Once I am released I will have to warn Shinde to never come between us and especially block my view.
"Ma'am, Chai (tea) " Shinde gives her and she passes a little smile.
What the hell!!!!!
Why is he being close to my girl. I don't like it. I am getting jealous.
She, smiled at him. She fucking smiled at him!!!
But at least I could see her beautiful smile. But Shinde was the one to make her smile!!!
Shinde turns to leave. When he looks at me, he jumps back a little.
Must be scared of my deadly glare.
I tell him to get lost through my neck movement and he gets the momento and runs away like a scared little dog.
Perfect! Now I can watch my Yukti.
I must have lost track of time since I was so immersed in admiring my Yukti.
She is so hardworking.
I am so proud of my girl.
I know I added a little problem for her but what can I do? I wanted to see her. I wanted to be near her.
For fucks sake it's been one month since she came back and I couldn't even see her.
My Yukti looks so beautiful!
She hasn't changed one bit in six years.
I could spend all the day watching her but unfortunately all good things come to an end.
I sigh when my brother comes in with Abhimanyu.
Yukti is so frustrated as she doesn't want to let me go.
Same baby same. Our emotions are the same.
She tried to get the arrest warrant but couldn't make her seniors agree. She even fought with them to keep me here.
See? That's how much she didn't want to let me go.
Yukti orders Shinde to open the lock up. He eventually opens the door and lets me out.
The three of us-Â Ishan, Abhimanyu and I walk out the police station. I shake hands with my friend.
"Let's go."Â Ishaan says and walks towards our jeep.
I stop him, "Itni jaldi nahi chote. Ek cup chai ka toh ho jaye. "
(What's the hurry? Let's have one cup of tea)
Abhimanyu sniffles his laughter, "Bhai tu nahi sudharne wala. " (Bro, you are a hopeless case.)
"Sudhar gaye toh pyar kaha kiya. " I say. (If I can't express my love then who will)
I sit on the car bumper and order three cups from the tea stall in front of the police chowki.
Abhimanyu brings the tea. I take the cup and sip the tea. My eyes locked at the door.
"Bhai, itna daring bhi mat ban. Bhabhi, rehm khane walon mein se nahi hai. Direct warning di hai ki koi bhi suspicious activity kri ya yeh truck chori case m tera naam mil gaya to seedha jail. Aur yaha Tu jaanboojhkar yeh kand kr raha h. "
(Bro, don't be so reckless. Sister-in-law, won't show any mercy. She has given you a direct warning -Â if any suspicious activity happens or your name gets involved in this truck theft case, you'll go straight to jail. And here you are, deliberately getting involved in this mess.")
"Tu kis kaam ka agar mujhe jail jana pade. Aur waise bhi pyar ke parindon ko aj tak koi pakad nahi paya, toh hum ishq ke kafiron ko kon kaid kr sakta hai.
("What's the use of you if I end up in jail? Besides, no one has ever been able to catch birds of love, so how can anyone imprison us infidels of love?")
"Bhai tu aur teri shayari. " (Bro you and your poetic bullshit.)
Abhimanyu shakes his head. Unfortunately our tea ended but she didn't come out.
"Chal ab chale, bhabhi nahi ane wali. " (Let's go now, Sister in law won't come out)
Jald milege Madam ji . (We'll meet soon, my love)
With that thought I jumped off the bumper and got into the car. We speed off towards our house.
First we dropped Abhimanyu and Ishaan had to check on the farms so he dropped me a few distance away from our house.
I walk down the street to my house.
On the way I meet- Amma, the oldest lady of our village, who is knitting a sweater.
She calls my name and asks , "Shankar, baccha kaha gaya tha?" (Shankar, where have you been, son?)
Of course they knew about the fiasco that happened at the haveli.
"Oh kuch nahi, Amma. Teri hone wali bahu ke dusre maike gaya tha." I said smiling. (Nothing, Amma. I just visited your future Daughter in law's second house.)
"Dusra? (Second?) " She asks me confused.
"Inspector jo hai. Toh dusra maika hua na..... uska jail. "
(She is an inspector which makes her second home.... The jail.)
"Daath pagal." (You crazy, kid.)
I laugh at the horror on her face. Whistling, I go back to our haveli. Since no one is at home I jog up the first floor, which is entirely mine and walk down the hallway to my bedroom.
Entering my room, I fall on the bed and think about her
I replay every moment where I breathe the same air as her.
My heart is fuller and content just from seeing her.
